Discover the healing power of breath and let breath become our teacher and guide, on and off the mat!!
At One Breath Initiative, we discover how our breath can impact our entire being at all times. By understanding the mechanics and chemistry of breathing and its impact on our body systems we can become more aware of our body sensations, mind, the way we carry our spine, our posture and our breathing patterns throughout the day!!
We also use the breath as a main tool to help us with our asana movements. Coordinating asana movements with the breath directs our focus inward. When the body, mind, and breath come together in harmony, that is Yoga! The breath becomes our guide and teacher. This Yoga approach follows the tradition of Krishnamacharya.
We believe that within each of us lies a deeper consciousness whose true nature is pure joy. if we were all to be in touch with this entity in us, the world wouldn't be heading in the direction that we are heading today! Yoga helps cleanse the system of all the impurities that are covering this entity, all of which we have gathered since birth or perhaps even before that! Through dedicated yoga practice, we uncover more about ourselves and the world around us. This journey brings us closer to our true self. Since the body is our only instrument to achieve our life goals, we draw on Ayurvedic knowledge to understand our unique constitution. By adopting lifestyle and dietary habits suited to our body, we support our journey!
This program is for individuals who are curious about self-discovery and open to new insights about themselves. It is ideal for those willing to commit to a regular personal yoga practice. The primary benefit of the program is increased self-awareness!

I am Aparna, certified in the Krishnamacharya Tradition as a Yoga Teacher from Yogavahini, Chennai which is run by my teacher Saraswati Vasudevan who studied with Desikachar (Krishnamacharya's son) for 17 years!!
My yoga journey began during my second pregnancy 8 years ago. Yoga to me, back then, was “asanas”! Over time, I have evolved as a student and practitioner, gradually uncovering the deeper essence of Yoga through my practice.
I currently teach Yoga in a few schools in and around Bangalore. I also conduct personalized one-on-one classes for a few adults.
Four years ago, I commenced my studies in Ayurveda under an Ayurvedic doctor, Dr. Padmini Ranganathan. Implementing lifestyle and nutrition changes tailored to my family members' needs has been a significant aspect of my journey, alongside ongoing studies in Ayurveda.
Bringing together my knowledge in Yoga and Ayurveda, I have developed a program aimed at facilitating holistic wellbeing, a venture that brings me immense satisfaction.
