At One Breath Initiative, we discover how our breath can impact our entire being at all times. By understanding the mechanics and chemistry of breathing and its impact on our body systems we can become more aware of our body sensations, mind, the way we carry our spine, our posture and our breathing patterns throughout the day!!
We also use the breath as a main tool to help us with our asana movements. Coordinating asana movements with the breath directs our focus inward. When the body, mind, and breath come together in harmony, that is Yoga! The breath becomes our guide and teacher. This Yoga approach follows the tradition of Krishnamacharya.
We believe that within each of us lies a deeper consciousness whose true nature is pure joy. if we were all to be in touch with this entity in us, the world wouldn't be heading in the direction that we are heading today! Correct Breathing and Yoga helps cleanse the system of all the impurities that are covering this entity, all of which we have gathered since birth or perhaps even before that!
This program is for individuals who are curious about self-discovery and open to new insights about themselves. It is ideal for those willing to commit to a regular practice. The primary benefit of the program is increased self-awareness!

I am Aparna, a Certified Breath Science Practitioner from the School of Breath Science, Australia. I am also RYS 500 Certified in the Krishnamacharya Tradition as a Yoga Teacher. My teachers in this tradition include Saraswati Vasudevan, who studied with Desikachar (Krishnamacharya's son) for 17 years, Uttara Venugopal, Jyotsna Ramakrishnan, student of Srivatsa Ramaswami who studied directly with Krishnamacharya for 3 decades.
My yoga journey began during my second pregnancy 8.5 years ago. Yoga to me, back then, was “asanas”! Over time, I have been evolving as a student and practitioner, gradually uncovering the deeper essence of Yoga through my practice.
The transformative power of breath has had a profound impact on me, sparking a deep curiosity about it. This interest had inspired me to undertake the Breath Science Practitioner Course with Martin from the School of Breath Science in Australia.
As Ayurveda is considered a sister science to Yoga, five years ago I began my studies in Ayurveda under the guidance of Dr. Padmini Ranganathan, an Ayurvedic doctor. Implementing lifestyle and nutrition changes tailored to my family members' needs has been a significant aspect of my journey, alongside ongoing studies in Ayurveda.
